The Chicago Society of Internal Medicine
Founded in 1915 by Dr. James B. Herrick, a Chicago physician who was the first to describe sickle cell anemia, The Chicago Society of Internal Medicine is a unique organization which has been a long time catalyst for education and fellowship. In addition to having a glorious past, it includes among its members the most distinguished colleagues in Internal Medicine in the city. Unlike other medical organizations, the Society offers regular meetings where noted researchers, clinicians and professors from competing institutions gather monthly to exchange information of mutual interest. Historically, our speakers have covered topics on the cutting edge of medicine.
This year will mark the 91st year of the Society. We have planned to make it a year of growth, change and renewal. We have revamped the program for our 2006-2007 season in response to member suggestions. |
